To clarify what Eiwe is saying. Is that we think IPs should be made public as well. But last time when we did that, everyone flipped out and thought that their IPs should be private. sooo this is what you have. If the majority changes and wants public IPs then we'll do it.

Shall we have a poll in general discussion? If we get enough response to this thread then we'll do the poll.

I'm for it. Even before I was an Admin and able to see the IP's anyways I was for it. Most boards show IP's as it is and only people who either a) don't know what the fuck they are talking about, b) have something to hide or c) are just looking for something to complain about in the first place will bitch.

If you choose to show IPs then don't show the final octet.

Really the only people with a need to know are the admins, and they can make public whether a troll is from an already existing IP if they choose to.

If we do it, the whole purpose behind it would be to cut down on the amount of trolls. In order to determine whether someone is a troll (i.e using the same IP) the final octet would be essential.

So, instead we would conceal the first octet. The IP addresses would show up as xxx.168.2.53

We still haven't decided to do it or not yet.

That works too. Really all it's going to do is make people smarter in their trolling though.
