i do like the mavs holding pat with all the trade shit going on....well the gasol deal would have been awesome being the lakers got him for nothing....but kidd is 2 pricey as they are looking for a lot of value in return…not just dumping a contract for cap space like memphis…the mavericks if healthy can play with anyone….they seem as disinterested with the regular season as I am and i expect them to turn it on going into the playoffs

devin has a chance to be a 16-17 pt and 6-7 assist an night guy for the next ten years and aside from getting a top tier elite player (kobe) it would be nuts to package him in a trade

we gotta get Kidd, it sounds crazy, but someone to set up dirk and howard would revitalize the offense, and neutralize guys like Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Nash, and Parker if/when we meet them in the playoffs.

There will be some blood over who is leading the team if you get Kidd. Dirk has been the assumed leader, but Kidd is coming out of leadership and I highly doubt wants to be a scrub supporter.

i dont think dirk ever really wanted to be the man, ala Kobe or Jordan, he just kinda fell into the roll since he is obviously the best player. I really think it would work well, since Howard has smaller balls than a 4 yr old, and terry is more of a gamer than a leader. I've been watching highlights of kidd, and his MO is just getting easy shots for whoever is around him. Thats what we need, not devin driving to the basket, hes a one trick pony, and cant pass that well.

How would Kidd neutralize any of these guys? He's a defensive liability. You get Kidd if you want your offense to improve, he's not the answer defensively though.

maybe not, but hes kind of the Don of PG's, and garners a lot more respect from the listed point guards. I have a feeling a bit more defensive effort would come in the playoffs, and the fact that it would be his last chance at a ring. His size helps lean on the smaller guys and realistically devin is quick, but could fall apart at any time. Barrea is a back up pg at best, although i like his offensive play off the bench.

I think Kidd is a short-term upgrade and Devin could be a long-term answer. It all depends on which way you want to go. I don't think this team is one Jason Kidd away from a title personally, so I wouldn't make the move. I think the problem lies in the 7 foot tall German, but that's another issue for another time.
