If you want his information, I can point you in the direction of my friend, Ricky Tran.

He is an excellent instructor and can help bring you into it with less frustration than most.

I have done power/bikram yoga quite a bit, and have seen the physical benefits from it. The biggest benefit you can expect from yoga is going to be flexibility and getting in touch with your true inner spirit. I highly suggest getting into a meditation regiment to go along with yoga. The meditative aspects of yoga can be built upon very easily.

Unrelated to the original post but those interested in addressing the inner energy flow might want to take a gander at www.emofree.com watch the video and make your own determinations.
I know what yoga is and what's its for. That's not what I am asking about though. What type of physical benefits have you seen as far as staying toned?

What exactly are you talking about when you said "bring you into it..."?

Staying toned is a definite. But I am also a small guy so it is easy for me to stay toned. I have a book that I am using for my yoga....I will get the name and the author and let you know. I have found great benefit from going through the routine and pushing myself a little harder than what they reccomend.

It's kind of like what I experienced the first time I played golf. I used muscles and was sore in places that I didn't know could get sore. Power/bikram yoga is good for those who can't concentrate of their breathing as much since the temperature is high enough to where your breathing isn't the only thing responsible for being your inner furnace. I might have missed it but how often did you say that you did yoga, and what kind? Are you doing this by yourself or in a class environment?

Deep dickings, of course.

He understands the basics and walked me through a lot of the course one afternoon. I got to understand the basics without having to go through a full course to see if it was right for me or not.

He does a full course instruction, but I just wanted to know what it was all about, so he showed me.

Right now I have only been going 1-2 times a week. I was hardcore into working out but I have been big time slacking since Christmas.

It's a class enviroment at American Power Yoga, power yoga (obviously, lol). I have a fast metabolism, plus I'm a vegetarian so its a bit easier for me to keep weight off.

I love the mental and spiritual benefits. I have tried about 5 yoga centers in Dallas and this is the one I like the best so far. They also have the best cost, but you have to commit to 6 or 12 months for that price.

I feel my body working, and I push myself every time. Plus I end up just covered in sweat. The regulars I have seen there, which are more than just a few, look really awesome.

I just don't want to commit to that many months if in 3 months I will have gained weight. Once I commit I will go 3-4 times I week.

I don't remember the name of the style, but here is a recent article on a 60 minute class that he told me about:

Also I have a bad neck and back so I was hoping I could work on that as well as tone up. I don't need to lose a lot, maybe 10 pounds. There are a lot of regulars there with very toned bodies, so I don't get it?
Go ahead and do it. You won't regret it, I know that. It'll keep you fit.

it's not the exercise that matters, it's the work and discipline you put into it.

They should offer yoga classes with out the new age veneer on it. I'd be apt to try that out.

There's nothing new age about it....yoga, chakra aligning, mantras, energy work, etc are all thousands of years old. Yoga is meant to help put your spiritual, mental, and physical bodies in sync. Does that scare you or something?

That is the basis of yoga, the whole point behind it is all of that "new age" stuff. You have to remain balanced and breathing or you might as well not even try it.
