Women's rights. Good for her. She is owning up to it all by realizing what she has done (be it good or bad) and only done it to herself.

I don't know how many times she impregnated herself in order to document this, but I see some Sylvia Plath in her future.

All those dudes got off scott free in donating seed, but to think that one of YOUR children might be one she killed in order to make "art" wouldn't bode well with me.

It isn't a crucifix in a jar of urine, but it's still dodgy as hell.

this is such a clusterfuck of confusion, mockery, cruelty, and contradiction I cant even express. if that was her point or reflection then she picked an extreme on so many levels either side you look at it, pro-life or pro-choice (what those typically represent) - its insane. IF thats even the standing point she was trying to take.

I notice she said she wanted to provoke inquiry. Well thats a GIVEN. what I want to know is whats her asnwer for it. her meaning. she also said "I believe strongly that art should be a medium for politics and ideologies, not just a commodity, I think that I'm creating a project that lives up to the standard of what art is supposed to be." again i think she is making a mockery of any essence she was trying to portray. is she metaphorically showing her art is a waste of something that was once precious, delicate, and pure of being a peice of her?

Because of the "art" slant, it will be spun as "dodgy". I believe like you that it is wholly wrong. No harm came to her life or those of her children and she repeated the act numerous times (per her own admission).

To control the power of creation to that level and then be as harsh as shown here is truly astounding. Not in a good way, mind you.

i would not go to this exhibit because it would be smelly.

I was also not impressed with tracy emin's used condoms on her "suicide bed" installation

biohazard does not good art make. well is taxidermy a biohazard? damien hirst did make some beautiful objects out of dead things. the butterflies, not the horse flies. the flies smelled icky you can smell it at the goss collection yourself.

i don't think executions should be televised or suicides/murders celebrated and archived. there is a line you can't cross for me imho.

the only difference between what she did and partially delivering the babies, doing a IDX and then smashing the delivered corpse between cinder blocks and stapling the remains to a wall is time... stage of development. One may spin or slant it however one wishes... there is nothing about this that is any way defensible (not even remotely suggesting you were defending)

can't recall the artist... some fluxus chick... made a dress out of raw meat. I saw it old and dried up but it must have stuck at one point.
