| Bikram Yoga Have any of you ever did this? I went to my first class yesterday and loved it. It's pretty expensive but I think Brian and I are going to figure out a way to make this happen and do it. I was amazed at what a work out and how intense this was. I was reading tah the room gets to be 105 degrees. We drank water all day before we went. |

| Isn't there a Yoga that you can do in sub-freezing temperatures as well? I'll bet that one sucks. I also heard about some new age yoga where they kick open a nest of angry yellow jackets during class and you have to hold your postures. Ouch. |

The whole point of yoga for me is the focus on breathing and the relaxation of my muscles so that I can stretch more. I need a comfy temperature, no stinging insects, and a quite room.....

Why the Heat? (Hint: To bend anything, you must add heat!) A. * Heat allows for deep stretching because the muscles, fascia and connective tissue are more elastic. * Warm temperatures allow for greater range of motion in the joints. * Heat reduces chance of injury because muscles are warmed up. * Stretching warm muscles burns fat more efficiently. * Capillaries dialate, which increases oxygen flow to cells and promotes waste removal. * Heat promote4s toxins to release from sweating through the body’s largest eliminative organ, the skin. | |

| I have always wanted to try it. I love heat. I have had to do yoga in cold rooms and it was miserable. Really hard to get some good stretching going when your whole body is shivering. Unfortunately, due to how expensive it is... I've never really been able to go to a class. And as much as I like stretching and all that... I find that yoga is a bit too mellow for me. I did it for a year, twice a week, and I never really bonded with it.

I understand the why..... but I get warmed up doing the yoga itself, I don't have to increase the temp in the room..... TO each their own.
