MySpace... Old Friends...

So... I'm sure many of us have had old friends find us via My Space.

Some of them I've really enjoyed reconnecting with. It's not like we chat all the time... but I know they are able to be found, which is pretty cool.

Have you ever had someone find you... that you really didn't WANT to talk to? I'm sure a lot of you will say "yes" to that too.

I had a friend find me... and we had a not so good parting. I don't completely dislike the girl... I just don't care to keep in touch. But I already responded to one message and added her as a friend. I should have just ignored her but I didn't want to be a total bitch to her. I'll probably just reply one more time and that will probably be the extend of our contact.

I also had another "friend" message me... and this one... we ended on somewhat bad terms. Not really sure how to respond to that one. I'll be honest... but haven't cared to type up the response yet. With this one, I just don't approve of her and her husband smoking pot around their kid. It's just not something I approve of... so I don't care to be friends with her.


So... what kind of old friends have found you? Good ones? Ones you want to ignore? What did you do?

Kind of old friends who found me: ex boyfriends, people who wanted to make out with me in high school & still do, girls who want to fuck my brothers who i met at house parties we used to have

Good ones here & there, but mostly from people who I hung out w/in elementary & middle school

If I don't like someone who is messaging me or wanting to add me I'll just ignore the message or whatever. Once I wrote an e-mail explaining why I didn't want to add them to my friend page & he wrote back some shit & I just ended it by deleting his response w/o reading it. My e-mail to him didn't require any kind of response.

I think what I find is odd... how someone I broke a friendship off with... was cool with sending me a message... like nothing ever happened between us. Uuuhhh... hello, I broke off our friendship. Sure, it was 8 years ago... but I did end our friendship.

Then BAM! "Hey, how's it going...blah-blah-blah".

Just strikes me as... really odd.

Anyone have that scenario? Like they act like nothing negative went down between the two of you... when they know it did.

I have a friend that i have changed my number and he still hits me up on myspace every couple weeks asking me to call him. I havnt returned a message from him in over a year. Get a clue!!!!

I have had three girlfriends contact me through myspace from my younger days and all three have become FAT. One was a gymnast, one was a model, and one was a flight attendant, all FAT and domesticated. so much for a little "reunion" time.

strangest one for me was my 6th grade best friend that we fooled around w/ for like prob three years but is str8 now... like what do u say to that? remember you were gambit and i was wolverine? lol so you have a girlfriend now?

The ones who find me are the ones I've met once and they think we're "friends". I'm too nice, so I accept everyone based on those terms. I did have one ex-boyfriend add me recently, but it's all gravy. I pity him because he might have caught the HIV.

I had a dude from elementary school contact me. I remembered him but still he wasn’t even really a "real" friend then just somebody who was in my class. I ignored him cuz I figured after 20 years what the hell do we have to talk about.

I have a myspace just so I can look at other peoples pictures. My myspace is blank. This girl I met a few time found me. I don't know how. Its not that I don't like talking to her, its just that I think she wanted to get with me and I dont like her like that. So now I set my myspace to private.

I have found GREAT ones. Since I moved all the time when I was little (I have friends everywhere) my best friend from 2nd and 3rd grade found me from Topeka!!! She is actually coming to Dallas in October so I'm excited to see her again!!!

I want to just tell this girl straight up that I have no clue why she's contacting me after she threw our friendship away years ago.... but I'm deciding to not be a total bitch for once.

See, that's really cool! An old friend of mine from H.S. contacted me and we even talked on the phone. It was nice catching up with her. She has probably come to Dallas and we haven't see each other... but that's cool.

pretty much every single "old friend" that has tried to contact me via myspace i have no desire to talk to. i seriously couldn't care less what people from my high schools are up to now. the most real and awesome friends i have ever had i met during and after college.

I've never really had anyone find me that I didn't want to talk to. However, one time I got an email from a friend... and in the cc: there was the email of another guy I went to high school with named Ed Jackson. Back then, we used to go out in groups, take X, hit the afterhours bars, dance clubs, and a few gay bars pretty much every weekend. He was a couple years younger than me, but he was VERY popular and was his class president.

So I saw his email address and sent him an email saying 'hey... how have you been... long time no talk... just wanted to say hi.... hope all is well, etc...'

Man... I got back this 2 page email from him about how I ruined his life and he will never forget what I did to him and will never forgive me for it and ALLLL this crazy shit. It blew my mind. So I replied asking him what he was talking about. He wouldn't tell me. He just kept on talking shit to me. I finally said, 'look, I dunno what it was that I did... but we were young and in high school and I probably did lots of stupid things back then that I regret... and I'm sorry for whatever it was that I did to you that scarred you for so long'. He never would tell me. He just kept talking shit. Finally I ended it with 'dude... I apologized... if you aren't going to even tell me what it was, then get over it... sorry you have issues.'

I never did figure out what it was. The ONLY two things I can think of are 1) I went out on a date with a girl he might have liked... but they were not dating that I was aware of. Shit, she was my very first 'official' date anyway... or 2) I DO remember a few times when we were at one of the gay bars, me and some friends saw him in the middle of the crowd of dudes and he was dancing with his shirt off and arms in the air. I dunno if we told people about it and it got around or something, which if that was the case and rumors got spread that he was gay... I could see where it would upset him... but shit, we all FREQUENTED gay bars, so it wasn't an issue to me.

Who knows. I never heard back from him. I actually just saw him on Facebook the other day, but I aint goin ANYWHERE near talking to him again. Dude has issues he's held on to since 1987.
