![]() ![]() | Would you tell your coworkers you are getting married?
I work at a call center, and I don't really hang out or talk to anyone that I work with that often. Am I obligated to even let them know that I am getting married? Should I invite my boss to the wedding? I mean it might be akward when all the sudden one day I waltz in here with a ring on my finger, but I'm not the kind of guy to announce something to a bunch of people I otherwise don't really interact with.

I guess that would depend on your relationship with everyone. We're all somewhat close at my job. I would invite most of my co-workers..

That sounds like a question that you and only you can answer. Personally, I like to keep work and private life as seperate as possible.

If yr coworkers even know you have a gf & have talked about her often, then I would tell them. But if you don't even tell them have one then what is the point... except for the gift thing. If you don't even a get a party at lunch or are asking time off then I wouldn't bring it up. Yeah right. Like I could keep anyone out of the loop about getting married. I would be stopping strangers in the street if I was getting married. Telling the check out ppl at grocery stores & bums who asked for a dollar/cigarette. I'd take out an ad in the Dallas Morning News. But that is just me. |

I'd do the complete opposite of that. To be honest, 30 people at a wedding is way too many.

![]() ![]() | That was my initial thought. There is only 2 people that don't annoy me that I work with but I guess I could just invite the whole mess. They probably wouldn't come but maybe they'd give me money. Yeah, me too... but there is the gifts!

![]() | I feel you on this. But I would say if they ask how you are doing or whats new in your life, then go ahead and tell them. I certainly wouldn't purposely keep it from them. But if it comes up in conversation naturally then what harm could it do?

Well I don't think they will be coming so it wouldn't really change the guest count which we already overestimated a little bit.
