have you seen deep red hatchet murders? i LOVE that movie. its more suspense with a low body count. but the shots are visually amazing, like the kubrick of horror. you have to watch it twice to really appreciate the head trip and masterful use of color.

demons & its many sequels have more bodies per minute. but its more in the nightmare on elm street / halloween kinda vein. a wee bit over the top.

i agree ichi is really an action movie (thats why chris will like it). but the level of violence is so off the charts it falls into the horror category. i mean those of us that like asian shock are not so shocked. but i've shown it to people that were totally grossed out. especially that suspension torture scene with the tempura.

i disagree about suicide club. i think its a very very smart horror movie. the use of technology as a weapon is completely brilliant. its more suspenseful, but any question about it being horror can be directed to the guy with the wood planer & the baby chickens lol.

i view it as more of a social commentary, especially when you take the sequel (noriko's dinner table) into consideration. but, yes, very smart movie with deep thoughts inside. but no, not scary, to me at least....

Suicide club was so fucking convoluted I didnt like it at all. Then again thats almost any jap movie. I usually just watch em with the sound off and death metal blasting in the background.


Also if any one is interested in "Audition" just save yourself some time and skip to the last 20 mins
