i havent just kicked back and listened to my boys in a while. Today i typed the name into my itunes search and pressed play and just let it roll. Not remixes, just the OG versions of everything........man! Almost 30 years of just bad ass music and lyrics. I forgot how much some of these songs get next to me and still can affect me the same as the first time i heard them. Fucking amazing!!

hush. i just havent had time to just do nothing and listen to them for a minute. Just back to back like this. It really just gets staggering how much genius is at work there. Very few people can put together whole albums of just amazing work that you can listen to without skipping through certain bits. Not just good singles, great albums....for 3 decades.. I didnt forget, but i WAS reminded. Actually, when i was at the Yaz concert the thought ran through my head, again, ....what if Vince never left DM? He prolly wouldve stayed head writer and none of Martins songs ever would have seen the light of day. We wouldnt have KNOWN what we were missing, but looking back i cant imagine parts of my life without them. And the sounds they sampled to make their rhythm tracks (esp. in 83-86) is stellar. i.e.- "Pipeline" (dropping/hitting ping pong balls and bottle rockets)

last i heard they were taking a couple of years off to kick it with the fam, but they were definatley gonna do stuff...Martin has been going around dj'ing and working with Nitzer Ebb for their new project....thats all i got

I would'nt mind catching one of his Dj sets, live. Only thing I have heard in that realm from him, was a lil 30 mix that supposedly he did..that plays before they play(whil people are getting seated an what have you)

i gave the live stuff a listen a while back and i spent the rest of the day thinking about all the old six flags concerts i attended.

One of the best shows I ever saw was New Order and Depeche Mode together at Southern Star Amphitheater in Houston. It was for Music For The Masses. Never really liked them in concert after that though. Always kinda mediocre to me live.

I remember seeing them at the Starplex...when it was the Starplex. I was sitting in the stands waiting for the crowds to clear out when some guy came up and gave me a backstage pass. So I got to meet them after the show! I was so scared and really couldn't recognize them up close.

yes, but also, they know that they dont do a lot on stage and have learned to take their show production to such a level that you still get sucked into the show. they have such iconic visuals attached to each of their songs and do a great job of using that imagry to take their show to another level. Something New Order should DEFN8LY look into learning....god, what a snoozefest they are live.
