45 minutes?

What kind of rice are you making?

The only reason I ask is because that microwavable rice is extremely high in sodium. Not to mention it tastes funny. But, if you like it, that's good. I'm only saying this because I once made it and had to throw it out, it was so awful.

Do you know you can put REGULAR rice in the microwave too? All you have to do is make sure the measurements of rice to water are right, and cook it on high for five minutes, then on low for ten minutes.

My favorite quick breakfast is frozen whole grain waffles with vanilla yogurt and sliced strawberries instead of butter & syrup. Sometimes I switch out the fruit. I like blueberries also.

I've been getting those packets that you just tear the edge and microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds and they taste totally fine to me. Didn't know that about normal rice. Our rice cooker is slow and takes forever but that's how we normally cook it.

Yea I know which ones you're talking about. The orange packets. I tried it once and had to throw it all away, and couldn't even let Chris taste it. But if you enjoy it, good, I WISH I did, because it's so terribly easy.

But yea, you can cook normal rice in the microwave but the only catch is the measurement of water has to be spot on, and you have to cook it at two different temperatures. Takes about fifteen minuts total. But, it's better than waiting that 40 minutes right? And you can toss a little dab of butter or olive oil in the rice with a bullion cube or dill or something if you want to spruce it up.

Yeah I mean, it's not the be all end all of fine dining, but they suit me fine for lunch. Rice from the rice cooker is way better.

Oh yes, I've been eating lots of whole grain, multi-grain, and just recently flax seed waffles for breakfast...w/ just a little light butter! I don't like syrup.

Flax seed is my fav.
