| Labor day recipes
So I am sure you guys are going to be cooking it up this 3 day weekend.... Any ideas what you are making? Grilled food, desserts, side dishes? Let us share ideas...

Well I have a finger food munchie that I might bring cucumber slices on rye bread with cream cheese and dill weed. MMM MMM GOOD. everytime I make them they are gone in 10 minutes.

I am probably making fudge brownies, for my dessert. Might make guacamole for snacking. Not sure on the side dish yet, Todd suggested I make my Garlic-Dill potatoes. He loves them, but I've made them pretty recently, so I was thinking of trying something new. ~Nikki~

I think I will be making these cookies....and maybe some short ribs, and potatoe salad.... Oatmeal Crandberry Cookies 1/2 lb unsalted butter (2 sticks) 1 1/4 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 tablespoons milk 2 cups rolled oats 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon salt 2 cups dried cranberries Cream butter and sugars until fluffy, beat in eggs, vanilla and milk. In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and stir until combined. Stir in cranberries. Divide dough in half, roll into a log about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Refrigerate until firm. Heat oven to 350, slice logs into cookies, bake on parchment lined cookie sheets leaving 1 1/2 inches between cookies. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

i have a very similar cookie recipe only i use raisins and cranberries and put some walnuts in there for crunch. dyno-mite! tonight i'm going to post all 4 crock pot recipes i been using this week in the old myspace blog. bean soup (which makes a great dip), tortilla soup, goulash & vegetarian chili. my friend made the recipe for the chili & you would never guess it was meatless.

I am gonna cook my heart out this weekend I think...... I want to do a lot of snacks and stuff too, I really want to try to eat at home as much as possible this weekend. Fruit and veggie trays....maybe some stuff for breakfasts....
