I was attacked by a dog this morning

I come out of my apartment, turn down the hall way when suddenly, out of nowhere, this 2lb chihuahua comes running and yalping at me.
YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP!
Me: Hi doggie
YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP!YALP! YALP! YALP!
Then a somewhat cute girl comes around the corner.
Her: Come here (said very little conviction in her voice)
I go back around to my apt to change from flipflops into real shoes and the dog follows me.
YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP!
I go in.

It's bitches like that chick that give chihuahua's bad names because they don't know how to train them.
Every day I walk past her apt and that damned dog YALP's at me through the door.
YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP! YALP!

Not suprising. Chihuahua's are typically unfriendly dogs and have been pretty glamorized by the media.

I remember watching roadrules on MTV a few years back and they had to chase around 30 chihuahua's around a bullfighting arena and one of them had the key to get out on its collar. Those fuckers were vicious. At least 4 of them drew blood.

We have one next door to us. Anytime I go out back or in the driveway, he comes around the corner barking like that. Finally I just decided to growl back. Little mouthy turd. I can run up and growl at him and he takes of so damn fast. It's almost humorous now.

I don't agree w/ that at all.

Chihuahua's are bad ass dogs if trained correctly.

The problem is that they are so small and cute and so they are not treated like normal dogs and don't get the training they need.

Instead of owners saying "NO!" like they would a big dog, they are all like "awwww... don't do dat widdle doggie woggie" and that re-enforces that negitive behavior. It's the owners fault, not the dogs.

I had one a cpl years and that was a bad ass dog. Never barked, just chilled on the couch all day unless I wanted to play w/ him.

He did bite me when I first met him but after a few weeks he learned that I was the boss.

I think that 2lb chihuahua would have YALPED Cujo to death. Especially if it was at 9am like it was for me...

yep, i had a chihuahua in high school. I got her as a puppy and brought her everywhere I went. She was exposed to so many people when she was a puppy. She lives with my mom now. And even at her adult age, when a guest comes to the house, she greets them. Doesn't bark at all. She wants to jump in their lap and say hi.

If all they are exposed to is their owners as puppies, then that's the only person they know and everyone else is a boogie-man.
