Re: Im not a Hipster but...

I'm not sure what hipsters have to do with bicycles, but I'm all about bikes as a mode of transportation. I spent last saturday replacing an innertube and tightening spokes on my cruiser. She needed an overhaul pretty badly.

I mean if i had extra money i'd get a road bike too, a classic scwhinn, but only after getting a new mountain bike.
I have a Specialized Mountain bike and a 12speed Yokota road bike. Now its time to rip that Peugeot apart and make it my fixed gear bitch. Every type of bike has its own special advantages/disadvantages.

dont use fix a flat! A new innertube is only like eight bucks and pretty easy to change. Ask your local bike shop to show you how or if you live in the area I could show you how.

i CAN do more, i mean to a friends house it was three miles there and back , plus i had ran to the store that day...I dunno, in the gym i can usually bust out 6-8 miles on the bike there, but real terrain is different.

ie. like i can bike three straight miles w/out stopping on real terrain, longer, but i'd have to take a small water break, or walk the bike a bit.

I would, but i live in Denton, i've taken it to the bike shop before, i think i have the jist of it, i just need the proper tools to get the wheel off, this is why i really want one of those specialized with the wheels that just pop off easily....that and i don't usually lock it up when i go in the store, i just take the front wheel with me.

Yeah I've only done it on my mountain bike or road bike. It seems like the perfect place though to ride a fixed cuz you wouldn't have to stop or slow down so much. You’d have to watch out for runners and kids who don’t see/hear you coming.

It's a fixed gear bike. They've been adopted as the #1 form of transportation by the greater hipster metropolitan community. But if you're not wearing nut huggers and gold chain t-shirt while riding you might be ostricized.

Nice ride, I have been eyeing the Schwinn Cutter here recently for my local forays on the street.
