Read what Brian said. and I'll go a little further by touching on why people convert older road bike frames like I did(its about a 30 year old frame). Road bike frames are not as rigid and offer a better riding position for city riding due to their geometry. Track bikes that are already fixed are made for just that track riding. This is one reason why people convert these old frames and of coarse it looks cool, is allot of fun working on an old bike, and swapping out parts. When I can afford it though I would definitely like to get a true track frame.





As for Grustles bike its sort of a new type of hybrid fixed bike that has sprung up with the popularity of fixed gear riding. I could be wrong but I would say it has benefits of both a track frame (drop outs) and a road frame (geometry/riding position) to make it better for city riding and tricks.

That's why I'm loving Denton. All of the major roads around my place have bike lanes, and I haven't been anywhere yet that didn't have bike racks.

In the past month, I've only been in my car to drive to Dallas.

Where are you living now brad? I just moved off of Lower Greenville and your welcome to come by to try mine out and see what you think. Fixed gear isn’t for everyone and I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive at first. Now that I've been doing it for a little bit I love it. It gives you a whole different perspective on bike riding.

That's how I learned. There's a bike shop at the end of Gaston near White Rock Lake. I picked up an innertube and a spoke wrench for $5 each.

Thanks! It’s funny that you say that because I went by West Village bike (closed) last Sunday to see about an orange chain around 5:30 so I must have just missed it. Unfortunately I won’t be able to ride the next two Sundays but after that I’m free all summer. So I'll definitely hit that up.

Yeah fixies aren't for me either. Don't get me wrong..I think they are really cool, but I'm just going to keep my old ten speed a ten speed. I think the fixie deal is more of a boy thing, unless you're a serious girl rider who pulls tricks and whatnot.

Also, clawful's newly converted bike looks pretty kewl. I like the new wheels. Blue grip tape to complement the orange, perhaps?

Im going to leave the handle bars chrome for now. Im really digging that look esp. after removing the front brake yesterday (it wasn’t work anyway)! Im changing out the stem tonight and going to get some bullhorn handle bars that im also going to leave chrome.
