How do you feel about Marc Crawford being the new head coach?

I've always liked Nieuwendyk, agree with needing a coaching change to an extent. The GMs and coaches never controlled the team, the players did. I think the chain of command is finally going to be back in place. And people WILL listen to Nieuwendyk.

But Marc Crawford? Hasn't won a cup since 96 and he doesn't have the greatest playoff record since then. And then theres Bertuzzi. Crawford might of given the signal to get Steve Moore off the ice and Bertuzzi responded by ending Moores career.

i dont know anything about him except that he had a worse record than Tippett did... so not sure why Newendyk is so hot on him

They were bagging on the hiring pretty hard over on fark. Something about his coaching style being way out of date.

Not to familiar with him, but people are voicing plenty of distaste at it.

Regardless of if hes a good coach or not, if the ridiculous amount of injuries dont quit piling up, then all the coaching in the world isnt going to save them.

well maybe a drastic change like this will actualy help the team. you never know but maybe it will end up being a good thing. Kinda scary about no cup since 96 though. what's his playoff record like? i need to do some research on this guy.

Coming back to this, I agree that it might help. I think Morrow, Ribeiro, and Turco might get a big reality check with this.

This isn't Morrows team. Morrow helped create a bad environment for Avery when he got here. Avery didn't stand a chance. Everyone hates Avery, thats a given. But even Gomez in NY can put his differences aside and admit the Rangers are a better team with Avery. Morrow was a little bitch and kept saying he hated Avery. That made the team feel the same way. We were still paying for Avery's contract while he was in the playoffs with another team.

Ribeiro is good, but not stay out another fucking shift good cause he "feels" a goal coming. Get your ass off the ice if your line isn't supposed to be out there. Crawford will let Ribs know if he fucks up with that. I hope he benches his ass the rest of the game next time he tries that shit.

Turco........ Crawford will hopefully let Turco know he had no reason for the contract hold out a few years ago. How many Cups did you bring us Turco, thats right, a big fucking zero. 0 should be Turco's new number.

Crawford might help get the team in line. But just like every hockey argument I get in around playoff time - Regular season doesn't mean shit. Playoffs do. We now have a team and a coach that have difficulty getting deep into the playoffs.
