yeah, i totally don't want to get any vaccine. i never got a flu shot either. i've had bronchitis once 2 yrs ago & if i'm not careful, i feel like i'm getting it again, but... yeah, i'm worried about what the government/Rx companies is putting in that.

Trying to locate information about yearly recalls and coming up short ... One or two instances doesn't really constitute yearly recalls.

Because it has not been eradicated from the entire world yet. It's the same reason you DON'T have to get a smallpox vaccine. I understand your argument but that is the answer to the question.

For the same goal of eradicating the illness and improving our quality of life. Once again, the parent can choose to let their kids get the illness instead of a shot in most all states. I personally do not like to see my kids suffer. It's a calculated risk that I am willing to take when it comes to vaccines like this.

My understanding is that due to the use of dead viruses and improvements in medicine, the vaccines that we give now with 3 - 5 different codes in them are MUCH less taxing on the body than the individual shots that we received as kids in the 70's and 80's. I can't give you an argument for that... I passed on the Hep A vaccine on both of our kids straight out of the womb for the same reason. Though one day they will be sexually active / getting tat's / shooting smack ... so at some point this would be a good vaccine to have.

The only shots I allow my children to have is Whooping Cough, Meningitis, Measles, and Mumps. Because those are the only potentially fatal diseases that Texas children could even possibly be exposed to. I also make sure that they never combine those shots, (MMR is a dangerous cocktail) and make sure that they are only administered one at a time three months apart from other shots.

If the MMR combination was that dangerous, we'd be seeing kids dropping like flies around us... Separate or together makes no difference here from everything I have read. I'm a parent and have shared alot of these same concerns with our first child.

Sorry I've got to call you on this last statement before i"m out ... Varicella and Rotovirus are possible to contract and both can be fatal (though it's the exception and not the rule).

/full disclaimer - I am not a Dr but I play one on TV. Also, my wife has our kids on a delayed vaccination schedule due to some of the same concerns you express here... Obviously it is a topic of discussion at our house from time to time.
