Absinthe aficionados, halp!

I know this has prob been posted time upon time but at those points in time I wasn't interested.

Where can I get some quality absinthe locally /AND/OR online. I want quality not some black market bullshit so if I gotta go online I will.

Oh, while I have your attention, I need a place to get ghost chili's local too. I want to make some chili with it.

Lucid is good. most places have that.

just so you know the stuff they sell here is manufactured wormwood... not the "real deal" that you can get online from europe. i have had multiple liqour stores tell me this when i asked about there absinthe... they advised me to not buy it.

non of the absinthe really makes you hallucinate, after drinking the stuff for about 7 or 8 years now, i don't really notice anything more than a really good drunk buzz. (and i love the taste) I've also ordered tons online, before i started purchasing it at the liquor store (stateside).

and it is "The real deal" they passed a law in 2007 to be able to have up to 10mg wormwood in each bottle. Obviously the people who work at your local liquor store, doesn't know what they're talking about.

C-fer can tell you about some of the ones he's been ordering online as of recent. Mike roos could tell you some more, but he doesn't really post here anymore.

And I just want some quality stuff, I have a few friends that are going to come for a small shindig and I want them to experience some good stuff. I had some great stuff abroad and for the life of me cannot remember the name. Not trying to hallucinate but it's like saying "just drink McCormicks, it's the same as Crown Royal" when you say it's all good.

I saw that Lucid stuff today, actually that's what made me think of posting this. Almost bought it but wanted a true opinion since I have seen some real fans on here of absinthe.

If someone can post or pm a legit website for more quality info or place to order I would appreciate it.

ya compared to some in europe or you can get online that have triple the amount.. why drink a watered down version? no offense but thats what lucid is.... the stripped down usa version

look online and try to order kublar, maktub, century 100, you can get all these online from across seas with MUCH higher thujone.

online is always the best way to go. just order from overseas

and not trying to be a dick eric.. just stating what lucid really is... i like how in there marketing they even try to play down the thujone 10mg restriction in theres and say its not what its all about... when in reality it is what put this drink on the map.. europe its restricted to 35mg legally but there are ones out there like century 100 that have 100mg in it and its what chasing the green fairy came from lol



on another note i could really care less..... give me a 1 part hypnotic 1 part hennesey and im green and good to go lol

Maybe i should of worded my post diff. It not even the same content mg as europe. And it does not make you hallucinate i know but that is what it was famous for supposedly doing. Thats why it was in movies here. Thats why everyone wanted to get it brought here. To see what all the buzz was about. Why do you think they named the very first version lucid lol. But like i said it is still a watered down version. Just get some stronger ones online. If your going to do it. Do it right =)

The stuff they have here is made from southern Wormwood, The stuff overseas is made from a European wormwood strain. Not much different really other than the soil it is grown in.

I am an Avid drinker of Absinthe, have been for 8 or 9 years.

when I was living in Germany I was buying 1-2 bottles a week of different types.

Lucid and the Absente strong 68 are really good ones to try that are available at most of your liquor stores here. Goody Goody should have the best selection.

As for online ordering you can go to Alandia.de.

But be prepared to pay a steep delivery fee and wait a few weeks for your bottle.

Lucid is NOT good. I'll have more info for you tomorrow, but I just woke up and can't brain yet. Blech. ew ew ew. why does everyone like Lucid? Its the Budweiser of absinthe, IMO.
