I completely disagree. I was bored to death. I went in with low expectations and ended up wasting an hour and a half of my life. I even tried to 'set the mood' to help me get into it. Total snoozefest. :thumbsdown:

Just watched it online and it actually scared me. Demonology has always fascinated me yet is simply terrifying at the same time, so any movie based on the like has scared me.

I think this is one of those movies made for people who sleep with every light on in their house/Apartment cuz their afraid of the dark/supernatural. People who genuinely believe in being possessed and suffer from major paranoia or maybe I'm wrong and it's made for people who don't know shit about truely frightening original stories.

i recommend seeing it in a nice loud theatre where no one is interrupting the plot by talking

I sat in the living room, by myself, with all the lights out and watched it on my laptop. I was still not scared in the least.

However, upon seeing that ending - maybe the version I saw (which was a DVD rip) is different. From what I've read, this was originally released in 2007, maybe changes were made from that cut to this one?

Steven Spielberg was apparently so scared that he stopped watching it halfway through.

The version you and I watched was the DVD screener and Im starting to notice that the people who saw the screener weren't very scared by the movie. My buddy sean who's seen both said they trimmed alot up for the version in theaters. He did say it is more interesting thou with the stuff they left in. Like the entire video of the girl being exorcised from the old news reel is left out of the theater version.


Oh yeah, and the ending in theaters is fucking retarded. Sounds exactly like something spielberg would do. I used to love his movies when I was a kid, now hes becoming a bigger hack by the day. I wonder if him and Michael Bay have been hanging out.

I watched that ending and the alternate ending on youtube last night. Honestly, that movie looks like it would scare the bejeezus out of me. Then again, um....I slept with my closet light on until I was 17 or so. I also had to cover up the TV in my room with a blanket every night. To this day, I still cannot walk past a mirror in the dark. Poltergeist fucked me up baaaad as a kid. lol

sounds like they were trying way too hard to get a scare than keep the tension up and build towards a climax. I'm still glad I didn't waste my money and see it in the theaters.

you would think so and I most certainly hoped so - but it's not. I've watched a loooot of horror flicks - I watch the good and the bad. I try to give 'em all a chance b/c you just never know what will strike a chord in you. This one didn't even give me a lil' bit of scary doubt as I went to bed last night. None.

And, for the record, I do believe there are ghosts, demons, etc. roaming around out there. If there is good in the world...there must be evil.
