I totally agree with this! yes i should have clarified that nature wasn't one of the things I was referring to. As far as people.. yep. There are some interesting ones around these parts but I have met some amazing people who I'm sure I will be friends with for the rest of my life... People I feel blessed to have met...

Sorry but, way to limit yourself to a 1hour radius [add 1/2 hr to that & you've got Texoma & the Red River to explore]. Think big people, there are tons of things to do in this state. It's so spread out, agreed but, nevertheless it's here & you should enjoy it.

Personally, I am in the same boat as Jessica. I wouldn't want to leave this town/state until the kids are much older & out of the house. Not saying it's impossible, it is possible, you'll just have a harder time planning & playing out all the possibilities & ramifications of the move. This is where you don't want the Triple P's to play a roll: Piss Poor Planning.

You can go to Tyler (1.5 hours) and you got state parks where you can hike, bike, etc. I know shit is out there but how much time do you want to waste to do that.

I want to live somewhere that I can drive for 1 hour and be snowboarding, hiking in mountains, white water rafting, killing eagles with my bare hands. I need to move to Denver....guess that's what I'm comparing.

btw, I know plenty of ppl that have done major moves later in their life and figured shit out.
And volunteering for charity groups can be a great way to network.
When you're in a room w/ 12 other ppl blowing up balloons together, it's very easy to make friends. And a large majority of ppl that volunteer for charity are established ppl just looking to do more in life.

Personally, I've very happy in Dallas. Not many other places in the states I'd srsly consider moving to - for population size and weather. I HATE the cold... So that cuts out most of the cities I'd even think about.
