Retirement?? How old are you? I've got no chilrens and a job that has flexibility on where I live so I've been asking the question about where I want to raise a family and Dallas does not exactly make me inspired to pop a few out.

There are pockets of cool people in Dallas that I wouldn't mind raising my kids around but I think there's a lot better places that I could choose. That and enjoying the rest of my youth and experiencing life in a different place are what spark my interests.

I'm still relatively young. I'm only 30 and I own a house in Fort Worth. I just keep thinking, if I want to retire in a specific city, I should make sure that I have a job that can take me there. I can afford a house here, I am just not sure if I want to rent it if I leave or sell it.

I guess all this thinking came about with my parents having a house in Austin. They got it when they were young and kept it and now have a house that is 100% paid off that is theirs they can always go back to. I was thinking about my FW place like that the other day, but I am not sure its where I would want to retire to.

Ugh, I always kick myself in the ass for not taking an offer in Denver. I stayed b/c I was in "LOVE" & my brother's baby was going to be born in 3 months.

At least I get to hang out with my nephew every other wkend! <3 Yet, I really was on the low end of the income scale until 3 months ago & I STILL had money to make SEVERAL road trips. Living here is just cheaper - so I can afford more. You know, while I"m young.
