regular tile - a hammer lanolium(sp) - they have giant spades on a broom handle at home depot (I own one of these to get all the glue up from previously having carpet)

floor tile remover, gas powered or manual if you have some upper body strength and uninjured shoulders.

Yeah, we tried the spades thing yesterday but ended up just spending 4 hours sitting on the floor with a hammer and some other tool with a flat thing to get under the tile. Only about 3000 more sqft to go.

HA!!! we are going thru this right now. Sledge hammer....then square shovel to break'em up. Takes no time. Wear a respirator and eye protection. Dust and debri goes everywhere edit. We have a concrete slab. Last edited by Rod Cramwell; 11-02-09 at 12:15 PM. |

I used a regular hammer and removed tile and most the mortar in 100 sq feet area in about 3 mins get to smashing

This just gives me nightmares when I was working on my house. this is your only DIY soultion. lanolium(sp) - they have giant spades on a broom handle at home depot (I own one of these to get all the glue up from previously having carpet) It takes time and endurance. Keep replacing the blades every few feet and it will be easier.

yep, the calculations come a lot faster the older I get. Hmmmmm spend $100 and enjoy my weekend or save some money and not be able to walk for 3 days.
