Help a child for Christmas

All Church Home for Children needs a lending hand for Christmas. This is the same foster home I lived in for 10 years. Every year, each child is asked to fill out a "wish list" of a few items they would like for Christmas. They are then given out per request to people who want to help provide those things for the child. Some of the things aren't expensive at all; for instance, I have a girl I'm sponsoring this year and she wants a Taylor Swift poster. That's like, $5. Any gift you can give to a child/teenager helps, no matter how small.

You can choose gender and age range, and sponsor as many children as you want. Remember, all of these children don't have parents to take care of them; most of them haven't ever met their real parents and since Christmas is a family-based holiday, it's very depressing for foster children.

Please sponsor a child for this holiday season.

I think I might help this year. I've always just dropped off stuff in the toys for tots box at work.

Hell some of these kids without dad's might even be mine for all I know.

You have no idea how much one gift can really impact a child/teenage kid's Christmas, and I thank in advance, anyone who helps!

There is also a program called Santa's Workshop. Since foster children don't have their own money to buy loved ones gifts, they "shop" with Santa Dollars at the Workshop. Any gift is acceptable to be donated to Santa's Workshop.

Also, here is a list of main things that teenagers need this holiday and you can provide any of them.

i usually volunteer with the angel tree ppl every year. its really sad when you get a family where all the cute little kids have been chosen & the teenagers got left out.

ppl tend to want to buy cute toys & stuff, teenagers don't care about toys r us.

i cannot tell you how many teenager slips i saw that didn't get chosen. all they asked for was a pair or shoes or a winter coat.

other good gifts for teenagers: small electronics (ipods, alarm clocks, calculators), sports jerseys, movie gift cards, hygiene products (cologne, hair accessories, etc).

imagine what it would be like showing up for your first day of school & not having any of the good stuff. remember that when you shop for these kids. cause even though they are almost 18, they still have a little bit of childhood left to enjoy.
