Yeah, I have never heard a good argument against gay marriage. But, according to xian the rave lawyer, the gays must make a better argument for gay marriage. Apparently it needs to be better than the whole 'equal rights for all citizens' bullshit.

Redeye, I don't think I have ever read your opinion on the whole domestic partnership thing? Would you be fine with that or do you specifically want marriage?

My whole thing is that if the church doesn't want to recognize it or participate it in, then that is their right. The government could allow the same benefits of marraige to a gay couple without any church having to take any part in the process, though. And that should happen sooner rather than later.

The fag haters will still be there, but at least there won't be a legal barrier to happiness for the homos.

I could give two shits about "marriage". just allow me to make whoever i choose to share my life with the beneficiary of insurance, benefits, etc. I think if given the choice most people would be happy with that. Do your whole domestic partnership ceremony if you're into that sort of thing. but as far as i'm concerned, just let me sign a piece of paper that says this person is allowed to share my benefits, and if anything should happen to me, is allowed to handle my affairs etc without contestment or arguement....and im done. we go off and live , and no one will ever be disturbed by us again.

I dont need God, i mean, some religion to recognize my union with someone else. just let us have the right to take care of each other as anyone else would. Im not a performance gay, as most people know. I dont need the world to see it. I'd just rather live my life in the dark corners....so "marriage" has never been a term i liked anyway. i'm more of a "commitment" kinda guy.
