I have a lesbo friend who believes EVERYONE should have civil unions through the states, her logic being that if marriage is a religious institution the state should have no part in it. The state should grant the legal rights and privs of a civil union, then if you want to go be married by God then so be it.

Wow, I think thats the most intelligent thing I have ever read on this board. Shes got a really good point.

I just had two friends in Austin get civil unioned (is that even a word?) They said they weren't going to get married until everyone had the right to do so. Pretty awesome, really.
