Regardless of if you are addicted to the P or not, the easiest solution is to man up, cut out the pain, and go your own way if you can't find a way to associate that doesn't lead to that. You can still be friends with your ex, but if you just see the cycle of hurt continuing, then it's YOUR BAD for keeping it going.
