Acceptable Use Policy:

At DallasDanceMusic.com we provide a chat room. Here you will find discussion on any and all issues related to the Dallas party scene as well as just regular chat about any number of things. Guests in the chat room are encouraged to discuss whatever topics they choose. For instructions on using chat, please read our dallasdancemusic.com chat page.

The chat room policy may be revised at any time. Please check this page regularly for the latest chat policy revision.

+Free Speech Policy
1). This is a free speech forum. It is not without rules and regulations, but it is considerably less regulated than most forums. If you find that disturbing, you may want to find a more regulated environment.

2). While we do not censor speech in our chat rooms, from time to time there may be discussions that individual members find offensive. We strongly encourage all members to familiarize themselves with the Ignore function of irc. Ignore can block the words of any given member from your screen. It does not block that persons words from the room, or any other users screen. If you "ignore" someone, they may have to be ignored each time they enter the room. To ignore someone simply type /ignore nickname

3). There are laws against certain forms of speech such as slander, defamation of character, and harassment. Accusations of this sort, however, are legal allegations that are best decided by a court of law; we do not arbitrarily make that determination. It is, of course, the prerogative of any guest who feels any laws have been violated to pursue legal action. Guests are responsible for what they post in a chat room, and should realize there may be serious consequences for illegal behavior. Once again, if you find anyones comments or language offensive you are encouraged to use the ignore function or leave the chat and come back at a later time.

4). We do not take action against language and content that might be found offensive or otherwise unacceptable elsewhere. We do have rules, however, and every poster is expected to adhere to our chat policy.

5). Those rules include such violations as scrolling or other technical violations which prevent guests from using the chat room, advertising, staff impersonation, impersonating a minor, impersonation of another member, and revealing what appears to be personal information about another member that would identify them in the real world and which they have not otherwise made public online.

+Operator Actions
6). Actions taken by the Operators are usually a warning. As a last resort, some repeat violations may result in the loss of a guest's privilege to participate in our chat. We reserve the right to deny access to the chat room for anyone, for any reason at any time.

7). Guests should also be advised that any ISP rules apply to all messages even if they are in response to discussions which took place in our chat rooms. All members are personally responsible for whatever they say in private communications such as messages and open chat, and may find unwanted or offensive material actionable. Please be advised that this would also apply to any log made of a chat discussion which is sent to another guest in any form.
