    Invest in Synth!!!!

    hey guys,

Something i have been thinking about lately as I have been trying to experiment and take my music to diffrent places. I talk to people about music, synths, and software all day and I meet allot of people that tell me about how they have shitloads of pirated software, loops, etc. This reminds me when I was using allot of cracked software and I made good music and I am not trying to bag on anyone using cracks. But lately, investing in hardware synth has opened a whole new appreciation and guidance in my music. There is somthing magical about putting your hands on some hardware and really exploring the limitations and hidden functionalities. When I had tons of cracked software I used to spend hours picking through all these software synths and relying on good presets or intuitivness of the GUI to guide to understanding how to get it to do what I want. And since I had no money invested in it my attention was short becuase I was really lost in a sea of plugins that I didnt know how to use and had no motivation to learn. Since ive ventured into being an "investor" in hardware synths i have found that my love and understanding for them has skyrocketed. When you pay hard earned money for somthing hardware and real you read the manual cover to cover. You learn to make that piece construct your sound! It's all about value, putting money into a synth is like entering into a relationship with a piece of machinery that is there to amplify what you have in your pallatte, the feeling is paramount.

I have listened to allot of plugs out there and their IS a sound diffrence that you get with somthing that has dedicated circutry. It's a nuance that can be a powerfull.

Again, I am totally not bagging on anyone using software. Merely explaining how using hardware has recently inspired me and the more I expereince leads me to believe that purchasing a dope piece of hardware is a great investment in any construct!

I started purchasing my software and only keeping purchased software on my production box and have found that I know the software I buy better, cuase I invested in it and have a real hardware manual to read! People always ask me why I still use Acid/Vegas for production... the main reason I use it is because I use it solely as a multi-track recorder and I play all my synth parts live with my hardware. I really don't know much about VST's or Midi when it comes to computer software. I've always liked the live feel of playing my keyboards.

    Yeah man, really killer ones.

Also miles I do feel like its the same. Most of the synth plug I love are emulations of synths I wouldnt want to invest in hardware models like fm7, pro53, cs80v... The plugs sound great!!! Plus there will always be plugs that go beyond anything a peice of hardware could do (reaktor)!

Yeah, I'd also tend to think that the older pieces of hardware would be harder to find too. I really need to start messing with beats.

    My electribe is killer too.

The synth plugs I own sound great ..but lack that big warmness...Albino is the shit...so is spectrasonics and ni stuff.

    I really want a nord lead 2
