Is the fader broken?? If its not why do you want to replace it?

Have a 05 and its not a pain. Just a few screws to take off then unplug the old crossfader and plug in the new one.

    fader fading

it feels like the cutoff is moving more and more towards the center of the fader. i have def put wear and tear, but theres like a 2 centimeter gap when it used to be right off the edge... thanks for the info.
