$1000 for the pair sounds really cheap. especially considering that you won't find them for less than 1k EACH.
I'd test them out in every situation possible before giving them my money and walking away with some new toys.
found a guy and talked him down to $1000 for the pair which sounds like a bad ass deal. he claims they are 6 months old. is there anything particular that i need to look for or try out before i buy them. i currently have the 200's but have never owned any of the 800's or 1000's nor have i used them for an extensive amount of time so i dont know what to look for. is there a "common problem" with those things that i need to check out?
thanks yall

Even if there is a major problem with them $1000 for both is dirt cheap. I would just buy it and risk it, the repair costs will still be nothing compared to the awesome deal you are getting.

You could make the $1000 back on ebay even if they don't work.....
okay so i just found out he is in Florida and we would have to do a UPS COD (collect on delivery) has anyone done this and does it sound like a good deal still? im leaning towards yes but have no clue about the small shit on the COD
About the COD, I've done a cashier's check. Just go to your bank, get one done up (there usually is a small fee), and hand it over to UPS when they show up to your door.
How did you find this seller? Ebay? I would be careful about out of state purchases (especially for high end gear that is super cheap) if you are not doing it through Ebay.
Just be cautious and go with your gut instinct. Good luck.
