    Grandmaster Flash interview

    I was in the car, and caught an interview on NPR with Grandmaster Flash.

    He was explaining how he learned his skill, and how he developed the mixing techniques he pioneered..
    He explained a lot of his techniques, and then spoke over a few of his tracks explaining how he put them together much like a director's commentary on a DVD.

    It kicked much ass, and I'm bummed I couldn't get to a computer quickly enough to tell anyone about it when it was still on..

    When I opened for him at LL, Don called me that afternoon and asked me to come over there because Flash wanted to go through a few things with me so we didn't play the same stuff. I ended up hanging with him for several hours, rapping about records and old times, going through his, and even juggling the tables back and forth with each other. One of the greatest experiences ever. VERY cool cat.

    also not sure if it has been posted but grand master flash and the furious five are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
