The real future of djing and all things DVS

Soooooooooooo.....I got this email from Native Instruments the other day about the release of "Traktor Pro" comming Nov. 1st, and for owners of both Traktor Scratch and Traktor 3.4 (like myself) its a free upgrade.

I do some research into traktor pro and its as sick as djing can get at the moment. Traktor PRO will be the most advanced DVS system without question. These are a couple of my favorite bullets...

Modular user interface featuring 4 playback decks with automatic beat-gridding of tracks, advanced beat detection and Sync Lock for perfect mixing
21 professional effects - tempo sync to any deck or route an external source through the industry-leading effects section

So then i get to thinking, it seems everytime traktor or serato releases an update the other one always has a rebuddle update...what is Serato going to do to answer back to this huge bomb traktor just dropped!?!?

traktor pro is freakin sweet too, but damn, cant wait to try em all out.

Gil, This enhanced midi clock with quantization and auto sync is gonna bring your traktor midi sets to a whole new level. JUST SICK!

We're gonna need more midi controllers.. with all these effects and shit

I suspect this ableton/serato thing is pretty far off and will take a good while to get on shelves.. So i am def. gonna bang the hell out of Traktor Pro till this new thing hits the market.

Last week I was checking all of our gear @ GC and was wondering why traktor and Traktor Scratch were discontinued in our system!!! This is great news!

Yeah I got an email about the Ableton-Serato thing a couple of days ago. Sounds neat, but until an actual product surfaces out of all this smoke, I'm on the fence about this one.

I still trust the dudes over at Ableton to make a useful quality product (and hopefully the boys over at Serato can even teach them how to make a semi aesthetically pleasing GUI). Even if it just removes the need to run a second laptop to run live FX, sounds, and loops whilst digitally mixing, that would be good enough for me if it worked properly and was competitively priced.
