Free Tool for Extreme Time Stretching: Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch

This is a program for stretching the audio. It is suitable only for extreme sound stretching of the audio (like 50x) and for applying special effects by "spectral smoothing" the sounds. It can transform any sound/music to a texture. The program is Open-Source and it's released under the version 2 of the General Public License. You can download the source code for Linux or the Windows binaries.
Please note that this is suitable only for extreme time stretching (e.g. if have a melody of 3 minutes and you want to listen it in 3 hours). If you want "less extreme" time stretching, you can use a program which contains the SoundTouch library.

This program works really well for something that is totally free...Basically you can take a wav or mp3 and time-stretch to ridiculous lengths without any strange artifacts that happen in other programs and then render it to your box. Great for textures and creating sample synthesis....

No I did not code it but it is really f-ing cool...I was really amazed by how small of program it is and by how much it can do....The time stretching is totally smooth

Yeah, the ported version doesn't work anywhere near as well though and alot of the features aren't even there. Maybe one day Paul will do a legitimate port instead of the pseudo-crack that us Mac people are stuck with.

This shit still rocks hard though. I hear elements made with it in a majority of the EDM I listen to.

It is way better for stretching out like 50x rather than trying to speed it up...I am pretty sure that he says something about that on his site...

not sure if this is the same mac version mentioned above, but i found this:
    http://music.cornwarning.com/2009/04...x-to-download/

seems to be the same thing, just can't process mp3's or aif's, but it works rather well.
