Dope, enough said. If any of you people have not attended a Sounds Like party your missing out.
sounds like doing it right in 2011!!
hadn't been in that venue since 2007 and it has been 2 long! the new ownership seems 2 have everything in order & it's good 2 see dallas get this venue back w/ it's long history & tradition w/ the underground edm scene!
got there a lil later than planned, but still got 2 catch a good amount of the ex-founder & owner of illmatic records, ill76, playin sum HEAVY tunes!
then of course you've got eric entity more commonly known as maetrik or in this case maceo plex. the man needs no intro 2 the dallas scene. remember him selling me records at the old illmatic in garland b4 they moved downtown. he's a dude w/ many monikers and is world class. last nite showed me 1nce again that this guy deserves every bit of the hype that he has received esp over the past few yrs, top notch set! had me attentive 2 the dance floor 4 over 2 hrs str8!
great show, great venue, great peeps. 2011 is shapin up 2 be a good yr! thanx again 2 sounds like 4 a proper experience!
...and thanx 2 pointbender 4 the sick threads!

I have no gigs, so book me.
Positive Education and especially Energy Flash (closer) are every bit as good as they were when released nearly 20 years ago. Maetrik/Maceo Plex's jams were pretty monstrous also.
The Sounds Like crew showed this old Detroit fart that they (and Dallas) know how to do it up right -- music was great, the crowd was hype all night long, and the venue gave me flashbacks of the best of my old hometown haunts.
Sore dancing feet, Bud Light hangover, and ringing ears all in the name of good music. I tip my hat to these folks, and am already looking forward to Alexi Delano next month...
Amazing vibe!!!
I was having a seriously shitty day..the kind where you just go around crying and wishing the world would swallow you whole. I only left my house in an attempt to "get away".
Went to 813 and what can I say..the energy in there was so positive, the crowd so happy, everyone so focused on the music and vibe that I immediaelty started smiling...by the end of the night I was dancing and by the time I got home (after 3a) I realized that maybe things just weren't as bad as I thought they were.
This is House music should be.

Great times... I walked into the back room, looked up at the ceiling and said out loud to myself "Holy shit the bass..." dude next to me gave me the 'Yeeeeahhhhh Boyyeeee' look and it was on from there.
That sir, IS the key!

Eric mentioned his recent visit to Dallas in an Ibiza Voice interview.
So you left Dallas recently, what's the music scene like there? Did you leave because of it or...?
The music scene there had been hurting for years. And I felt the need to really get out of there. The people can be very small minded...and I didn't want to fall into the black hole that was the Dallas scene. BUT, I just played there and it was amazing. Apparently the scene is back in full effect in Dallas with the birth of a new crew called SoundsLike. Dallas has a ton of great artists doing awesome music especially in techno and house, but Dallas always needed a playing ground for these talented people to come together. And the conservative politicians have made that almost impossible. Things are changing there though and it looks like the world will pay more attention to the Dallas scene soon.
