    Have you or ever gotten a job through

    a job fair or knew anyone that did?

    My buddy said that he never got a job or knew anyone that has gotten a job via job fairs.

    Me neither.

    There is a job fair this Thursday at the Renaissance Dallas & my buddy is looking for a job. Blah.

    The last job fair I went to was a complete waste of time.

    I went there, with 1,000's of other people. We were crammed in a room and had to WAIT IN LONG LINES to give our resume to someone. I waited for ONE HOUR to give my resume to ONE COMPANY. What bullshit.

    All my job offers and jobs have come from Monster.com and posting my resume up for recruiters. My job at TruGreen came from Monster. My current job came from networking.

    If you don't have a job, it isn't a bad option to at least do more than nothing, BUT it's not the most probable bet.

    Standing in lines just to put a resume in someone's hands for hours on end and MAYBE spend 2 mins of face time just doesn't balance in my book. It depends on how hard up the person is.

    I've not been to a job fair in like a decade, but have plenty of HR friends who end up running booths at them for their companies.

    Yeah, I used to job fairs in college & never got shit out of it. And I printed my resume on 100% cotton!
