Is facial hair frowned upon in Corporate America? I just notice a lot of the Higher Ups at my current client don't seem to sport any facial hair.

I would'nt sport a thing chin strap, but a gotee, beard or stache' should'nt matter.
Totally depends on the corp. The company I'm at doesn't really care, same thing with dress code or lack there of.

typically facial hair is frowned upon esp. in mgmt. depends on the company and the industry you work in. if it's close shaven i wouldn't sweat it. but yeah chin pubes and other ridiculous nonsense won't help you get taken serious thats for sure. unless you're on the creative side of the house or something.

As long as it's a conservative style, I don't see anybody caring. Just don't run around looking like Billy Gibbons or Salvador Dali and nobody will even notice.
Also, if anybody asks, just tell them you belong to a radical branch of Islam, and it's heresy to even suggest you cut your Allah Rug. Lean in really close while you do this and open your eyes a little too wide - I guarantee they won't bring it up again.
depends where you are. our corporate office is filled with unshaven people, but its at one post street/market in san fran-disco. our C level execs are all clean shaven though.

yeah, most corporations don't think too highly of facial hair. I worked for Guitar Center, a relatively laid back corporation, for 6+ years, and had the "ever think about shaving that thing off and moving up in the company?" talk with my superiors all too often. Fuck that, I love my beard.

it really depends on what kinda of facial hair you're trying to sport
classic militarty mustash, beard (if kept nice and trimmed) or a go-t (same rule as beard) seem to be exceptable in the corperate office I've worked in.
I think it depends on your sex as well. When I worked in key accounts at my last and only corporate gig, my boss was clean shaven. But his boss, who was a lady...had a lot of scraggly lil hairs on her neck, and 5 o'clock shadow at all hours of the day.
I know she was clearing 100k easily.
I also dont think anyone ever had "the talk" with her about, the facial hair.
